The period of formation and development bank established in 1590 by brothers Hans and Paul Berenberhamy who traded clothes and engaged in import and export, well coincided with the peak time of Hamburg. The city quickly became the center of commercial and financial activities, and to succeed in their work with other members of a small group of Dutch, who in Hamburg was not even full civil rights. Today Berenberg Bank - the oldest German private bank with branches throughout Europe.
